You may want to save time and effort, maybe think about booking a cleaning service
If you have kids, you'll want to make sure that you tell the school you are moving home. If you are moving out of area, you should enquire about school placements, make sure their placements in their new school's are confirmed sooner rather than later. If your move is out of school term times, you may want to sort out child care arrangements for moving day.
Sometimes animals can feel a bit overwhelmed when moving home, they can also cause trip hazards while we are working. If you can book the kennels, a cattery, or make sure a friend, or family member is available to look after your pet on moving day, this can really help. Some dog grooming/walking companies may even pick up your dog for you.
Before you begin packing your belongings, you will probably need to acquire some packing materials. See our guide to packing - everything you may need to know about packing, this also explains what size boxes to use for different items.

So now that you have got rid of any clutter and bought your packing boxes & materials, you can start to pack some of your less essential items. If you have a spare room, a loft, garage, or shed, maybe these could be great places to start? Try packing at least a few boxes each day over the next few weeks. Pack your ornaments, pictures, mirrors, all the clothing that you're not going to wear over the next few weeks, empty all the draws that you rarely go in, don't forget to write on each box the contents & room it will be going to.
Check with your solicitors, or letting agent that everything is going ahead as planned, if there are any delays, or anything changes, we would need to know as soon as possible.
